The Trump Atttitude

What Have You Done for Me Lately?

The phrase “What have you done for me lately” has become quite popular lately. It says a lot about the kind of people who use such a phrase. Just think about it. There are two underlying words in the phrase "what have you done for me lately". The first is "me", showing that the person is self-centered, and the second is "lately: showing that the person has a short practical memory about the good deeds of other people.

Jesus said the time of the end would be characterized by such “unthankful” and “unholy” people. We have seen much of this character trait coming into our culture since the Hippie Generation in the 1960’s. The hippies were the product of parents who followed Dr. Spock in the 1940’s 1950’s and so refused to properly discipline their children. Such children born in the 1940’s and 1950’s often grew up “wild” without the benefits of such discipline. Lacking such discipline, they often thought of themselves as being at the “center of the universe”. Others were just to be the “used” to help one’s self.

Such men as Donald Trump and President Bill Clinton epitomize the attitude of selfishness and lack of true appreciation of others by the Hippie Generation. Instead, others were to used and then “shown the door” (“you’re fired!”) at the appropriate time by such hippies.

It does seem a bit incredible nevertheless to observe just how emotionally immature such old hippies often are. Someone could have helped such a hippie for decades, donating time and countless thousands of dollars used by such a hippie and his or her family. In the end however, none of those good works of the past seem to matter to such a hippie. It is only, “what have you done for me lately?” (Then, “you’re fired!”)

As we move ever closer to the appearing of the Antichrist, we should expect to see such selfishness and sin increase. The Antichrist will himself be called the “Man of Sin”. These are times of Great Apostasy and a falling away from the truth. The Bible said that because iniquity would abound, the “love of many shall grow cold”. This time is upon us now. God help us!
